SPELLING RULES (2)

SPELLING RULES (2)
In this article, we are going to treat the second rule of spelling.
Spelling Rule No. 2:
When a word ends with a silent final ‘E’, it should be written without the ‘E’ when adding an ending or suffix that begins with a vowel.
This spelling rule helps us to know that whenever  we are adding an  ending or suffix which begins with a vowel to a base word which ends with a silent  ‘e’, the ‘e’ is dropped off.   Comprehending this spelling rule will always guide us in writing all applicable words correctly.
Now, let us use the following examples of base words and gerund words to get clearer understanding of the rule.
